This 12 hour course teaches the basics of wheel throwing, allowing you to become comfortable with the technique and produce finished piece. Classes will teach fundamentals like wedging, centering, throwing, finishing, trimming, and glazing. Includes studio time & class clay. Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday 7-9pm, or Saturday 11-1pm. Students must provide or purchase their own toolkit. Firing fees (4 cents/sq. inch bisque; 6 cents/sq. inch glaze). This 12 hour class is for those who are comfortable with the basic fundamentals and want to take their skills to the next level. Beginning with sets, the class moves on to explore altering and finishes with glaze mixing, and the production of multiple piece items--like teapots--and their assembly Includes studio time & class clay. Thursday 7-9pm. Students must provide or purchase their own toolkit. Firing fees (4 cents/sq. inch bisque; 6 cents/sq. inch glaze). Class enrollment is limited. Tool kits are required for participation, and new and reconditioned sets are available for purchase while supplies last. A firing fee will be collected when ceramic pieces are fired.
