Young artists need challenges to grow and develop. Creativity should be fun and rewarding, and when youths are encouraged to develop goals and given the skills to follow them through, it is. The Pre-Teen Young Artists series encourages youths to develop their artistic skills through skilled instruction and engaging projects. Offering challenges for both experienced artists and complete novices, the Young Artist series focuses on specific mediums and pushes them to choose their own master projects. Explanations of materials and provisional syllabi for each camp are provided below. The instructors for these weeks are experienced arts-educators with a background in encouraging younger minds to develop and reach their goals. Morning camps run from 8am to 12pm; afternoon camps run from 1pm to 5pm.
There are discounts for early enrollment, siblings, and multiple registrations. To guarantee quality of instruction, art camps have age and enrollment limits. Enrollment available on a first come/first serve basis. Children will be under adult supervision at all times. Fees include all supplies and usage fees for the duration of camps. Creativity & Concepts Camps Designed to teach art in conjunction with another medium, Creativity & Concepts camps are thematically based classes that explore specific themes. Below is a list of the focus of each of these camps, along with a brief description of material covered.
